Friends of Alexandra Park Photography Competition
The 2023 Friends of Alexandra Park Amateur Photographic Competition is now OPEN.
This year’s theme is celebrating ‘History Repeating’ and we’re looking for photographs taken in Alexandra Park that capture the theme and spirit of the park.
Pictures submitted must have been taken by you, so no historic archive shots, but can include aspects of the wildlife, sports and community events that have taken place in Alexandra Park Manchester.
The prize: The category winners will feature in our 2024 ‘Friends' Calendar - with the overall winning photo taking pride of place on the front cover as well as receiving the cash prize. The winning photos will also form an exhibition and become the ‘Banner Pictures’ on our Facebook page.

You can submit two photographs which must have been taken by you, along with your name, email and contact telephone number. Closing date for entries is 31st August 2023. Winners will be announced at our Photographic Competition Exhibition and Prize Giving on 15th October 2023.

Entry rules
- The competition is open to all amateurs
- Two entry’s per person.
- Each image can only be entered once.
- The image must have been the entrant’s original work.
- Entrants must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all images entered.
- By submitting an image containing identifiable human subjects, all entrants declare that those subjects (or in the case of infants, their parent or guardian) are happy for their image to be shared publicly.
- Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester does not accept any liability for the publication of unlawfully reproduced images.
- All images should show Alexandra Park Manchester according to the theme of the competition this year.
- Obvious computer-generated or computer-altered images will not be accepted (Photoshop etc).
- Artwork and illustrations will not be accepted.
- Images should be submitted as jpg and in Landscape format.

- Each jpg should be a maximum of 300dpi and 5MB in file size, with entrant’s name, email and contact telephone number.
- All entries must be submitted via the online entry form.
- Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester takes no responsibility for corrupted or late entries.
- By entering images, entrants grant to Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester the non-exclusive right to reproduction for any purpose at any time in any media with attribution.
- The winners’ consent to the use of their image, name and/or photograph in any publicity carried out by Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester, without further compensation.
- The winning images will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester.
- Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester’s decision on all matters relating to the competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
- Prize non-transferable.
- Friends of Alexandra Park Manchester reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify or discount any entrant or image.
